Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Group and member of the Group’s Corporate Executive Board. He has been member of the Board of Directors since 1996.
Graduate of the Higher Technical College for Electrical Engineering, Austria. Prior to the founding of SEZ in 1986, Mr. Sumnitsch worked at austriamicrosystems, Austria, as section manager with special focus on Wet Processing. Franz Sumnitsch is the inventor of 12 patents for the semiconductor industry. In April 2002 he was awarded the “2002 European SEMI Award” for his substantial contribution towards the advancements in the global semiconductor industry, especially for the development of Spin-Process-Technology.
