SEZ Adds Chief Information Officer to Streamline IT Operations
Villach, Austria --June 13, 2001--The SEZ Group (SWX: SEZN) has hired Paul Selinger as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO). In his new role, Selinger will work with all global business units to generate an information technology (IT) strategy for the company to maximize the efficiency of its existing business processes.
"Due to the continued expected growth of the SEZ Group, we are dedicating significant resources to refining our business processes and corporate structure to put us in the best possible position as we continue to expand our operations," stated Herwig Petschnig, COO of the SEZ Group. "As a part of this process it became apparent that we needed an IT strategy specifically tailored for SEZ in order to best support our customers. Paul's previous experience establishing business systems and global operations for companies like Dell and IBM made him the obvious choice for this position."
Selinger's initial focus will be to aid in improving SEZ's customer service and support via a global IT infrastructure and applications environment that is secure, reliable and well performing. "My goal is to build a world class IT organization that is fully integrated in SEZ's core competencies, both from a product and customer view. Our existing IT teams will become contributors to all of SEZ's business processes, from tool construction and assembly to customer service and support," Selinger explained.
Selinger most recently served as an executive consultant to IBM Global Services, Inc. where he designed, developed, configured and implemented multiple e-business, enterprise resource planning and customer resource management initiatives. Prior to this position, he served at IBM in multiple capacities. Before joining IBM, Selinger worked for the Dell Computer Corporation in various capacities launching Dell's international business operations around the world.
Selinger received a Master's in civil engineering with honors from the University of Prague. Additional studies include postgraduate work in business administration, marketing and economics at the Swedish Management Group at the University of Uppsala in Sweden. Selinger has also received various professional certifications and is an IBM certified consultant.
