AMD Honors SEZ With Spotlight Award
PHOENIX, Arizona,´September 26, 2002 - The SEZ Group (Swiss: SEZN) announced it has been awarded AMD’s 2001 Spotlight Award for the Best New Equipment Supplier of Fab 25 in Austin, Texas.
SEZ’s Spin Processor 4200 ranked high in overall scoring, recording a low total cost of ownership and flexibility in delivery time due to the tool’s modular design. AMD acknowledged SEZ’s excellent support under constraints of a standardized tool platform and the company’s willingness to react to AMD’s technical needs.
“AMD worked with us to achieve the highest quality standards, helping SEZ’s technology get where it is today,” said Susan Jones, chief operating officer at SEZ America. “This relationship with AMD is proof that our single-wafer spin-processing technology meets the quality, throughput and cost requirements for today’s and tomorrow’s chip manufacturing.”
Last year, SEZ installed the first Spin-Processor 4200 at AMD and since has had two follow up orders for this high-throughput four-chamber 200 mm tool. The 4200, a frontside applications tool for post ash residue removal, is used in AMD’s logic processes and qualification for Flash memory processes is nearing conclusion.
AMD’s total supplier rating is an extension of its World Class Supplier Program. It was initiated to objectively measure equipment supplier performance based on technology, quality, cost, flexibility and service excellence.
