New Sales Director David Fitzgerald Set to Expand U.S. Sales Base For SEZ America
PHOENIX, Arizona, June 25, 2002 - One of the few companies able to profit during the industry downturn, The SEZ Group, announced its U.S. sales growth expectations for 2002 will be spearheaded by new director of sales for SEZ America, David Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald comes from several top semiconductor equipment companies, including ASML and Ultratech Stepper, where his unique sales strategy and expertise landed these companies many new accounts as well as replacement sales during his tenure.
Fitzgerald has a successful track record of penetrating new accounts, which have resulted in $20 million in add-on sales, not to mention an increase in consumables sales in his territory by 300 percent in three years. He has managed such large accounts as Motorola, Texas Instruments and ST Microelectronics.
"David has an impeccable work ethic," said Jim Mello, vice president of technical operations for SEZ America. "His successful strategic selling philosophy brings unique business development practices and new motivation to our sales team. His expertise will enable SEZ to expanded its sales base within our top customers and keep our projected yearly growth rate of 12-15 percent."
Following the record 133 percent rise in sales for the year 2000, the SEZ Group managed to achieve an increase in sales and positive business results in financial year (FY) 2001. The North American region increased sales by 32.2 percent, which represents a 19.4 percent of total sales versus 18.8 percent in FY 2000. In total, the SEZ Group gained six new customers in FY 2001, four of which are from the U.S.
"While the international semiconductor industry experienced a down cycle in 2001, SEZ maintained significant growth last year," commented Fitzgerald. "This is remarkable, and says a lot about SEZ's committed sales force and strong market position. They are a focused group of individuals, and I hope to take this sales team to the next level. The goal now is to proliferate the installed base of our leading-edge equipment by continuing to offer the value- added process solutions and reduced cost of ownership for which SEZ is well known."
Fitzgerald most recently worked for NuTool where he managed North American sales for the pre-IPO start-up Before NuTool, he managed lithography equipment sales to semiconductor accounts for ASML Special Applications and Ultratech Stepper. Fitzgerald has a master's degree in business administration and a B.S.E in chemical engineering from Arizona State University.
