SEZ Group Launches Platform for FEOL Cleaning Steps
The SEZ Group (SWX Swiss Exchange: SEZN) today introduced its new Esanti™ platform targeting high-volume manufacturing in the front-end-of-line (FEOL) cleaning segment to kick off next week’s SEMICON Japan – the leading trade show for semiconductor manufacturing equipment in Asia – held December 6-8, 2006. In combination with the Da Vinci™ platform designed for back-end-of-line (BEOL) applications, Esanti brings SEZ another step closer to fulfilling its efforts to providing the industry with a complete wet processing equipment portfolio.
The Esanti platform features a unique process chamber design that delivers the flexibility to address either a broad range of FEOL cleaning applications or high temperature photoresist stripping processes. Currently SEZ has multiple Esanti systems in evaluation that are achieving promising results with memory and logic chip manufacturers in Asia and the U.S.
The Esanti platform is another milestone in achieving SEZ's strategic objective to become the global leading supplier of a complete product portfolio for wet cleaning solutions. "Having pioneered and subsequently dominated the shift from batch to single-wafer processing in the BEOL, SEZ is once again leading this conversion for FEOL cleaning and stripping," added Kurt Lackenbucher, executive vice president and chief operating officer for the SEZ Group.
Supported by the increasing industry transition to 65 and 45 nanometer, the SEZ Group expects Esanti to contribute up to 10 percent to the Group's net sales starting in mid-2007. By 2008, the Esanti platform is expected to become one of the company’s major sales contributors.
